TWIC Information Collection Request

Legislation passed August 2, 2018, restricts the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) from implementing any rule requiring the use of Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) biometric readers until after the results of a TWIC effectiveness assessment are submitted to Congress.

As part of this assessment, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking comments on the risk-mitigation value of TWIC at maritime facilities. Comments will be accepted until March 11, 2020.
