CFATS Quarterly

In May 2017, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a new Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) Quarterly.  The CFATS Quarterly stated that DHS had received 12,000 updated Top-Screens from 27,000 facilities that had previously reported holdings of Chemicals of Interest at or above the screening threshold quantity. As of May 2017, DHS had sent over 10,000 tiering determination letters to facilities that had submitted new Top-Screens. Tiering letters are being prioritized based on a number of factors, including when DHS received the Top-Screen, upcoming compliance inspections, and the workload for submitters that have a high number of covered facilities with changes.
