Updated CFATS Numbers

Since launching Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) 2.0, DHS has received more than 25,000 CSAT 2.0 Top-Screens. The Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) now cover more than 3,470 facilities, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had completed more than 2,000 Compliance Inspections at currently covered facilities.

DHS is expecting the CSAT 2.0 Top-Screen roll-out to be complete by 2018 or early 2019, and it is expecting approximately 27,000 new Top-Screen filings in total. Under CSAT 2.0, DHS expects the total number of CFATS-regulated facilities to increase from roughly 2,700 to approximately 3,900.
