CFATS Program Extension

As part of the bi-partisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed on March 27, 2020, the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism (CFATS) program was extended for an additional three months and one week.
Specifically, Section 16007 of the CARES Act extends the CFATS program, without changes, until July 23, 2020. This extension will give Congress additional time to work on long-term CFATS legislation once the pandemic hopefully passes.
